RASP-1171: ART & MAGIC OF ANCIENT HEALING This course focuses on ways of healing with arts in the ancient world, with an emphasis on spirit- based (faith) healing. This interdisciplinary class, integrating both the humanities and sciences, focuses on the major cultures of the East and West, including India, China, Egypt, and Greece. While attention will be paid to scientific forms of therapy such as herbalism and surgery, the psychosomatic dimension will be accented in terms of symbolic, ritualistic, and talismanic approaches to restoration.
